Flying out of tree

The egret was photographed at a San Diego lagoon in April about two hours before sunset.  A number of egrets had congregated in several trees and were quite active.

The  white color of the egrets causes the camera light meter to incorrectly determine  exposure.  In this case, I was lucky that there was enough back ground in the shot to render a correct exposure.   A majority of images were incorrectly exposed due to the predominant amount of white in the frame.  This problem can be solved with a spot meter if you are only shooting egrets.
