 Silhouette - 1

Calla Lilies thrive in early winter in Southern California.  They have a natural shape and color that's very conducive to not only photography but other art forms as well.   The flowers demonstrate a beautiful textured white backed by intense shades of green.

Similar to orchid photography, finding desirable light to complement their form and color is the biggest challenge.   Callas grow in both sun and shade which can provide an opportunity to play with natural light.

The photograph was taken with a 200mm F4 lens, on a CF tripod with ISO 400 negative film.
