La Jolla Cliffs 1
Look around. This month's image was taken while photographing pelicans, cormorants, and gulls on the cliffs over the La Jolla coves. All of the photographers, including myself, were photographing birds flying in from the north with the early morning sun at our backs.
I turned 180 degrees into the sun and noticed the high glare and washed out light blasting off the ocean. Not a Kodak moment. This is really a grab shot. My philosophy is to shoot first and worry about the captured image in post processing, which was extensive.
The image was taken handheld with a 80-400 VR lens, probably at the 80 mm and F8 setting.
